Hey, I read "Being at Time" too. I had the same look on my face afterwards as you do. Don't worry dd, Dasien may be hard to reach, but when you reach it it will make Andy sense.

Cheers,

John

Hi John,
If you read Being & Time in translation then I hope you read the Joan Stambaugh translation published by SUNY and not the old Macquarrie and Robinson chestnut inadvertently pictured here. I always find myself rereading Heidegger every January/February/March for some reason.

I read the one you have show in this fine photograph, a a few passages in a German class, but to be honest my German sucks. All I know how to say is "my house is around the corner" (mine zimmer ist um-de-eck-ah) and "no thanks, while latex is a fine material, I would prefer if you don't make me wear it while watching me make poo." (ok, I don't know how to say that, but I think its important to know how to say if you ever come across germans. Oh, and also we should look up how to say "that speedo looks great on you.")

BTW is that translation really off? I hope not, I based my life on it. Its funny how those things work: I hope I was meant to strive for an authentic life by reflecting on the momement of my death, it would be very odd if my whole exsistence would have been different had I had a better translation.
